If you need a visa, apply online to the French consular authorities in the country where you live, no more than 3 months before your planned departure.
When crossing the border, have sufficient resources, such as cash or bank cards, or be able to obtain them legally, for example through work.

Documents to bring

Your passport or another travel document, issued less than 10 years ago and valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure.
A valid visa issued by a Schengen country, if your nationality requires it.
Evidence of the purpose and conditions of your stay, such as a host certificate (attestation d’accueil) or proof of accommodation.
Insurance covering medical and hospital expenses, including social assistance, for care you may receive in France, with minimum coverage of 30 000 €.

With a host certificate (attestation d’accueil), you need resources of 32,50 € per day of your stay in France.
